The Bake Shoppe and Me, Meme #2

The meaning behind Auraea Sunshine:
Auraea is pronounced  /u-ray-u/, which sounds similar to "a ray of" and pairs nicely with sunshine. (Auraea Sunshine/ A Ray of Sunshine.) Auraea is a name that means "light." It was a nickname given to me by a dear friend from my past. My mom used to call me "Sunshine" when I was little, and this combined with the name "Auraea" that my friend gave me, helped me to create a clever and catchy business name for my bake shoppe.

What I love:
1.Writing, singing, playing Piano, baking, cooking, gardening, reading, and art.
2. Walking on the beach, the wind through my hair, rainy nights, the night time sky, autumn, and sunny mornings.
3. Flowers: especially pink roses, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, hydrangeas, lillies of the valley, and white tulips. I also love gardening, birds, nature, and porch swings.
4. Fireplaces, candles, down comforters, long hot bubble baths, lingerie, warm towels from the dryer, and mittens
5. Snow globes, wind chimes, Victorian houses, and rocking chairs.
6. Ice cream, hot bread, and the smell of nectarines.
7. Cashmere, lace, satin, and velvet.

Describe a place I really love:
I love Moraine State Park (Lake Arthur). I go there to write and for peace. I also love Lake Erie, PA and Ocean City, MD.

Favorite subject in school:
I alsways loved science, especially chemistry. I thought about being a science teacher for a while. Baking is a kind of chemistry, so I am actually following through on the science connection.

Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLauchlan.

Favorite poets/writers:
Nora Roberts, Elizabeth Kubler Ross, Anais Nin, Leo Buscaglia, and Robert Fulgrum

Childhood extracurricular activities:
I had 8 years of piano lessons, but learned to play by ear before that. The first song I played by ear was, "Here comes the Sun," by The Beatles. I learned this song on my grandma's organ.

I also had 8 years of ballet. I love to dance.

Favorite children's book:
Goodnight Moon, by Margaret Wise Brown

Favorite season:
Fall. I love to hear the leaves rustling, love how the air smells, and the colors are so beautiful. I love pumpkins and fall-colored mums...and raking leaves...apple cider...cuddling...taking walks.
